HISTORIEN OM POLTERABEND

Polterabend er en tradition der faktisk stammer helt tilbage til 500 år før kr. fødsel. Her var det aftenen før at man knuste lertøj for at fordrive den onde poltergejst.

I 1940/50 erne tog polterabend tradionen igen fart i Tyskland, hvor det var en slag festmiddag arrangeret af gommerns far. Polterabend kommer af  af de to tyske ord Poltern og Abend, der betyder henholdsvis larme og aften.

Polterabend traditioner kom til Danmark i starten af 80’erne, og har taget fart derefter. Nu til dags kan man vel ikke slippe uden om at holde polterabend hvis en af vennerne eller veninderne skal giftes.

SIDSTE AFTEN MED KLIKEN

Polterabend traditionen er jo sidste aften ude med kliken, inden man skal hellige sig familien. I England varer et polterabend en hel weekend, og det er normalt at man tager væk fra den by man bor i, gerne udlands. Rygterne går på at 25% af engelske polterabends bliver holdt uden for Englands landegrænser.
